Evergreen Heights
Going to great lengths for buyers
Located within Port Moody’s mountainside community of Heritage Woods, Evergreen Heights offers spectacular views from oversized windows. And the view is just the beginning.
This upscale development of single family homes was designed with attention to quality and comfort.
With a growing appreciation by homebuyers of the benefits of natural gas heating systems and appliances, natural gas was the obvious fuel of choice.
“It is now the industry standard for single family homes and it is simply the buyer’s preference,” said ParkLane Homes’ development manager Randy Dick.
Actions
ParkLane’s sales and marketing departments collaborated to determine and explore what natural gas appliances buyers want.
Natural gas features at Evergreen Heights
- ranges
- fireplaces
- domestic hot water
- high efficiency furnaces
- barbecue quick connects (optional upgrade)
Although a few high efficiency electric fireplaces can provide a certain degree of space heating, Dick said a natural gas fireplace is viewed as the space heating benchmark.
“Gas is preferred mainly because of the ambience it creates,” he said, adding the realistic flame and even distribution of heat is immediately pleasing and comforting.
Results
Homebuyers at Evergreen Heights expressed their affinity for natural gas because electricity and propane can’t beat natural gas in terms of its availability and affordability.
Although Dick believes geothermal energy is a possible future alternative to natural gas, he said geothermal’s upfront costs are still prohibitive. That means for ParkLane Homes, natural gas remains the natural choice for heating and appliances in its developments.
For Dick and other like-minded developers, natural gas has become an industry standard and a quality defining sales tool.
