You'll receive a natural gas bill from Terasen Gas every month. Your bill has an easy-to-follow format that lists each charge separately.

Glossary of terms

Account information Your name, service address of the meter(s) being billed and account number are at the top of your bill.
 
Amount due This shows the amount due and due date for payment. Your bill is mailed to you monthly, approximately 21 days before payment is due. Overdue accounts with a balance greater than $15 will have a 1.5 per cent per month late payment charge applied.
 
Gas usage calculation This is where you'll find information on your meter and gas consumption. For comparison, we provide your gas consumption for the same time period last year.
 
Energy used comparison The graph shows a comparison of your current month's bill to the previous month's and to the same month and previous month of last year.
 
Bill messages Important bill messages from Terasen Gas appear in this area of your bill.
 
Billing summary This shows all charges for this billing period, payments since the last billing period, adjustments and loan charges (if applicable).
 
Equal Billing Plan If you are on the Equal Billing Plan and pay a predictable amount each month, your monthly plan balance is detailed here.
 
Current charges This includes the energy charge, the delivery charges and appropriate taxes. The energy charge is based on rates set and regulated by the British Columbia Utilities Commission. See a copy of the current rate schedule.
 
Basic monthly charge The basic monthly charge on your bill recovers part of the fixed costs of providing service whether or not any energy is used during a billing period.
 
Total The total amount due is shown here.
 
Rate Your current rate for natural gas is shown here.
 
Pre-Authorized Payment Plan If you are on the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, the amount due will be withdrawn on the due date of the bill.
 
Remittance stub If you receive a paper bill, this is the remittance stub you should include when mailing your payments in. The online version of the bill does not include a remittance stub and cannot be used for payments in person at your financial institution. For your convenience, we have provided links to many financial institutions as part of Account Online.
