Cancellation options
The following is to help customers understand the options that are available and make an informed decision before canceling their consumer agreement with a gas marketer.
- Most gas marketers allow customers to return to the Terasen Gas variable rate within the program rules, specifically on the anniversary date of the consumer agreement.
- Customers who wish to return to the Terasen Gas variable rate should contact their gas marketer or check their contract for details on how to terminate their consumer agreement.
- Customers should contact their gas marketer at least 90 days before the anniversary date if they want to terminate their contract.
- Gas marketer contract penalties and stipulations vary. Terasen Gas does not charge customers any fees if they choose to return to the variable rate.
- Customers are encouraged to take their time and make the choice that's right for them. More information about Customer Choice.
- Before signing a consumer agreement with a gas marketer, ask questions such as the terms of the agreement including price, length of agreement, and what happens if you move. Here is a list of helpful questions to ask a gas marketer.
Terasen Gas does not go door-to-door selling gas
The commissioned sales people hired by the natural gas marketing companies to sell contracts are not linked to Terasen Gas in anyway.
