Questions to ask gas marketers
When talking to a gas marketers' representative, ask these questions to make an informed choice.
Gas marketers operate in a non-regulated environment, and operate businesses that are separate from Terasen Gas.
While the BCUC oversees gas marketers' business activities, the BCUC does not regulate the prices they offer. Gas marketers are free to offer different prices and terms to each customer.
As a customer, you are free to decide if a fixed rate is right for you and, if so, which offering from which gas marketer best meets your needs.
All gas marketers participating in Customer Choice in BC must:
- be qualified, approved and licensed by the BCUC
- adhere to the BCUC's Rules and Code of Conduct for Gas Marketers
