Natural gas is an important contributor to BC's economy and its energy mix. Used in energy efficient appliances and equipment, natural gas is a good choice for the environment. .
This offer applies only in the following regions:
• Lower Mainland • Squamish • East Kootenays (Columbia) • Interior (Inland)
Furnaces and boilers that are more than 13 years old are likely low-efficiency models, averaging between 60 and 70 per cent AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency). In other words they only produce 60 to 70 cents worth of heat for every dollar spent on heating.
ENERGY STAR natural gas furnaces can perform up to 97% AFUE. ENERGY STAR boilers perform at a minimum of 85 per cent.
Cut costs, not comfort
- Receive a $250 credit on your Terasen Gas bill when you upgrade your natural gas furnace or boiler to an ENERGY STAR natural gas heating system before
December 31, 2009.
This offer is available to all natural gas customers in the applicable regions. Customers who have signed with a gas marketer continue to be eligible for Terasen Gas promotional offers.- How to apply

- Save up to an additional $700 with one of 14 manufacturer rebates or special offers. But, don't delay. These offers expire January 31, 2009.
Upgrading or renovating?
If you're upgrading or renovating there are additional rebates available through the Province of BC's LiveSmart program, as well the federal government's ecoENERGY retrofit program.
Important note: The $250 credit on your Terasen Gas bill, which is available through our ENERGY STAR® Heating System Upgrade program, is also available through the LiveSmart BC program. However, the credit can only be claimed once.
