Fleet use
NGV grants
As an added incentive to switch to natural gas vehicles, Terasen Gas offers grants worth up to $10,000. (Total grant funds available per year are limited.)
By using natural gas vehicles in your company’s fleet, you’re playing an important part in improving air quality today and reducing climate change for tomorrow.
Trucks and buses powered by a natural gas engine are also noticeably quieter than the same vehicles powered by a diesel engine. Communities will literally hear the difference.
Natural gas engines
Heavy duty and medium duty natural gas engines are the cleanest commercial engines available today. Light duty vehicles can be retrofitted with a natural gas conversion kit that enables the vehicle to run on both gasoline and natural gas.
Are NGVs right for your fleet?
- Are your vehicles driven within a certain urban area?
- Is your fleet a high mileage fleet?
- Are you interested in saving on fuel and maintenance costs?
- Are you concerned about air pollution?
- Would you prefer to drive a clean, transportation alternative?
If you’ve answered yes to any of the above, consider incorporating natural gas vehicles in your fleet.
A few figures
- More than 10,000 natural gas buses and 6,000 natural gas refuse haulers currently operate in the United States.
- 90 per cent of Los Angeles’ bus fleet runs on natural gas (more than 2,200 buses).
- BC’s TransLink currently has 75 natural gas buses running in the Lower Mainland.
