Kla-how-ya: welcome to an Aboriginal exhibit

Terasen Gas is a proud sponsor of “Kla-how-ya”, a cultural display hosted by the Aboriginal Tourism Association of BC (AtBC) at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver, free during the 2010 Winter Games.

The lobby of the hotel will be transformed into an honorary Aboriginal village called "Kla-how-ya," which means "welcome" in the Chinook language.
 
During the 16-day showcase, Kla-how-ya will feature:
  • traditional dancing
  • cedar bark weaving
  • Aboriginal fashions
  • birch bark chewing
  • moose hide tufting
  • jewelry making, carving
  • storytelling
  • and an opportunity to explore the harvesting of
    wild herbs for traditional medicines
